Our qualification criteria is
Extensive first-hand knowledge of a specific country or region
- You must have gained the expertise through your own personal travel to one of our specialist areas.
- If you have not travelled extensively but can demonstrate an extensive product knowledge of one of our specialist areas we can still consider you.
You must be ambitious with a real drive to grow your own business and a determination to succeed
You must be passionate about travel and this must be reflected in your interactions
If neither of the above apply, don’t worry- you can still apply in the future- but before you do, you must develop an extensive product knowledge of at least one of our specialist areas through travelling.

NEVER WORKED IN TRAVEL? DON’T WORRY!
The key to being successful with Destination Specialist is knowledge of destinations and not knowledge of how to book and sell travel. We provide you with all the resources and training to be able to make reservations & sell.
All you need to bring to the table is the experience of the destinations you are specialising in and a passion to send people there!

Driving Customers
We know that its hard to build up your own client network in the first few months. So whilst you establish your personal brand, we will provide you with leads. On the leads we provide, you will earn 30% of the gross profit you generate on each booking. Any booking that you generate from your own initiatives will always earn you 70% of the gross profit
Technology
Our technology is state of the art. You will be able to build most complex itineraries within the system and you will find it easy to use, even if you have never worked in travel. The system handles everything from the time you pick up the phone and start building the clients’ itinerary to quoting and confirming the reservation.

We will show you how easy it is to promote yourself and your expertise using social media.

You will learn how to use materials such as our Social Media offer JPGs and personalised itinerary videos to drive interest

Our social media training workshops will show you the techniques to create engagement about your products and services

We will help you stimulate the conversation and comments on social media posts to keep your profile at the top of people’s news feeds

THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN TOUR OPERATORS AND TRAVEL AGENTS
A Travel Agent will sell all travel products and buy from a specialist Tour Operator. A tour Operator specialises in specific products and destinations and then goes out and contracts directly with the suppliers.
Why it pays to be a tour operator:
- We have ground representatives in all the destinations we feature to ensure clients always have someone to support them
- We deal with local suppliers and hotels in each destination which means we get the best rates
- We have access to IT rates with airlines which offer the following benefits:
- They are cheaper than seat only fares and much cheaper than the airlines own website as they can only be sold as part of a package – so the fare is hidden from the public
- IT fares don’t have to be issued until 4-6 weeks before departure, which means clients can secure their holiday with a low deposit
- We have all rates loaded into our internal sales system which means you can create, price and book bespoke itineraries without having to speak to anyone
- We cut out the middle man- whilst the travel agent will earn 10%-15% commission because the tour operator has to keep their margin, you will earn 20%-35%

- Direct sell operators make an average of 21-25% commission on their sales.
- This is of the average margin, not their highest margin.
- The average margin which is brought down by lower margins on single centre city breaks and beach holidays.
- It is well known that on a complex multi centre itinerary, direct sell operators make as much as 35% commission!
£3,000 per person. As most bookings will be for 2 or more people, you can expect to earn a commission of at £1,500 per booking based on achieving an average margin of 25%
You earn 70% of the gross profit you generate and that means YOU EARN £1,050 on a single booking!!!!!
It is not unreasonable for you to do 10 bookings a month. So you could earn a net income of £10,000 per month even after paying out all your business related expenses

Costs of membership
The initial cost of joining is £5,099. However, if you meet your minimum sales targets within the first 12 months, the joining fee will be
refunded to you!
Before you begin, you will receive 12 days of training over 2 weeks from Monday to Saturday at a residential training centre. The initial fee includes the cost of your accommodation, 3 meals a day and the training itself. After 8 weeks, you will have a further 6 days of training at a residential training centre to enhance your skills. This is also included in the initial costs.
